Health Experts Urge Parents to Embrace Typhoid Conjugate vaccination
On Tuesday 2nd July 2025 In a concerted effort to safeguard the health and academic future of children, health practitioners and local authorities are calling on parents to fully embrace vaccination programs that will commence from 5th July 2025 to 14th July 2025.
A 10- day campaign against 3 communicable diseases of measles , Rubella and Typhoid emphasis has been placed on the critical role these vaccination play in preventing diseases that can significantly impede a child's development.
Speaking passionately on the importance of these vital health interventions, Beatrice Bikeyo, DCC Ugenya subcounty urged parents to dismiss any doubts regarding the vaccination program. "We understand that parents may have questions or concerns, but I implore you not to doubt the safety and efficacy of these vaccines," Bikeyo stated.
She went further to request parents to engage with teachers allowing their children to be vaccinated. This call highlights the need for a collaborative approach between parents, schools, and health facilities to ensure widespread coverage.
Ugenya health promotion officer, Irene Odhiambo emphasized that the vaccination will be absolutely free.
"We will have a temporary mark and a card as evidence to those who have been vaccinated , "
Irene stated .she added that the vaccination will take place across the facilities ,schools ,churches and also markets to ensure they reach large number of audience.
Echoing these sentiments, Tobias Aluso, the Sub-County Coordinator, affirmed the comprehensive education provided to his team regarding the three diseases targeted by the vaccination campaign.
"We have been thoroughly educated on the 3 communicable diseases and I want to urge parents to cooperate and embrace the Typhoid Conjugate vaccine ,"
Aluso confirmed.

"This vaccination is crucial to prove our kids' health for better education."
